Oftentimes when Linnie and I travel, we seek out a hotel or B&B that is immersed in history because it becomes part of a whole learning experience for us. We have stayed in ancient castles, former churches and convents, palaces, historic inns, old hunting lodges, and other notably unique places. So, when we realized we would be heading to Nice, France, we chose one of the French Riviera’s grand dames, the legendary Hotel Negresco.

Location, location, location, as they say in the real estate world, is a top priority when we travel. It pays off in terms of time when you stay close to everything you want to see and within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and shops. The Negresco ticks that box. A short taxi ride from the train station, this beauty sits right on the famous Promenade des Anglais overlooking the glinting Meditteranean and is in the heart of everything.

A mere stroll from Old Town with its charming meandering streets and lively market, the Negresco is a warm, inviting home away from home.

Take advantage of the sprawling buffet breakfast, the terrace bar, and its Michelin-starred restaurant, Le Chantecler

The artwork alone is worth a look inside even if you choose not to stay at this beacon on the Côte d’Azur, but the shining star is the kind, considerate staff, and concierge who wish nothing more than the absolute best experience for guests. Hotel Negresco combines old-world style and hospitality with modern grace and elegance. Let’s just say it doesn’t disappoint; oh, and, did I mention that amazing market? Want more information on excursions from Nice? Check out Linnie’s post on all that we did in the South of France.
