I have recently discovered the divine ingredient that elevates dishes I recreate from my travels or dining experiences, and it is found at Penzeys.
I have often wondered why my recipes at home don’t taste like their originals, and I have decided that quality spices are absolutely essential to obtain the best results. Too, great dishes start with quality ingredients. An example of my love for Penzeys came after I made a basic coconut curry sauce. I sauteed some tofu and vegetables in a bit of avocado oil and added the magic: Garam Masala and Penzeys The Now Curry powders, let the spices toast in the oil with the tofu and veggies for about a minute, and then I added some coconut milk, chicken stock, crushed red pepper, garlic powder, soy sauce, and coconut aminos. Nothing was measured as this is all to taste.
